Break of Dawn

at the break of dawn, the streets were stolen by the golden light that beamed through the city

the honey skies met the carmine cardinals and beige sparrows who roamed the sunlit cityscape

the gentle morning sun arose and woke the honeybirds from their snug nests

songbirds flee from their trees and into the open warm air

a sunbird soars across the empty streets taking in every breath before it's gone

with each swoop of a wing, excitement followed

plovers roamed each valley in search of a new adventure to take on

sparks of bliss and joy flickered through the minds of these

so-called trivial creatures
